On the search for a 'universal' active element

In this paper we summarize the necessary properties that a nullor conceived to be a universal active device, must have. This approach lead us to propose a practical implementation of a nullor, consisting in a four terminal, fully floating transconductor with high gain. These design conditions are validated with some unconventional applications.
