An alternate approach for elasticity imaging was proposed. This technique applies a shear displacement to the tissue surface and uses 2-D speckle tracking to measure the resultant displacement field. Results indicate that shear elastography have good resolution, reasonable noise, and may lack the artifacts seen in traditional elastography.
