Mapping Exposure onto Nanoscale Toxicity Measures

Publication ,  Chapter

Risk assessment consists of investigations of both the hazard of an agent and the likelihood that the agent will come into contact with a human or other target organism. This chapter introduces exposure assessment as it applies to predicted exposure concentrations for substances generated by emerging technologies, especially nanotechnology. It also identifies areas where assessing exposure to emerging technologies may differ from conventional exposure assessments.
