Efficient motion sensing system using pyroelectric sensors

We describe a motion sensor system that can discriminate 'N' source states using logarithm of 'N' sensor measurements. Based on this design approach, we implement a motion sensing system using pyroelectric sensors as the sensing element and a reference structure based optical element.
