The Bright Future of Researcher– Policymaker Partnerships
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book features ten researcher-policymaker partnerships in the education and social policy areas. The recent passage in Congress of the Evidence-Based Policymaking Commission Act of 2016 is a remarkable example of support for a new national context for researcher-policymaker partnerships. The legislation articulates the priorities of assessing the readiness of administrative data to support federal policymaking. Federal emphasis on evidence, data and partnerships reflects trends at more local levels of government as well, although the degree to which all local governments engage in robust measurement has been highly variable.
