Other algorithms exist to estimate E from the use of a single dosimeter worn over the protective apron or from the use of double dosimetry [18]. All formulas used to estimate E from dosimeter readings are based on certain assumptions about the wearer’s radiation protective garments and position of operator with respect to the x-ray beam. For safety reasons, most of the commonly used formulas overestimate the individual’s actual eective dose [15, 18]. e formula given earlier is unlikely to underestimate E by more than a few percent or overestimate it by more than 100% [15].
