Radiation safety is critically important for both patients and healthcare staff during diagnostic and therapeutic angiography. As technology advances, improvements in fluoroscopy equipment have reduced radiation exposure, but procedures have become more complex, increasing fluoroscopy times. This chapter discusses radiation safety practices to employ during angiography, use of the power injector, and optimal positioning of the image intensifier.
