This chapter reviews the indications, limitations, and interpretation of a hemodialysis fistula mapping ultrasound. It discusses how to prepare the patient and perform the ultrasound from a technician's perspective. It also addresses the anatomic and physiologic characteristics required for a successful arteriovenous fistula creation.
