Inflammatory arthritides are the seronegative spondyloarthropathies and rheumatoid arthritis. The joints, bones, ligaments, tendons, and synovial tissues of the spine are affected by these disorders. Rheumatoid arthritis frequently affects the cervical spine. Early medical intervention can prevent disease progression, which can result in spinal instability. Other spondyloarthropathies similarly respond to medical management; however, fracture and deformity can develop in patients with advanced disease.
