Purpose, Power, Passion, and People: The Impact of Nurses on Boards!

A survey by the Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC) found that nurses are impacting the health of communities broadly. Nurses from every state and one country from outside the U.S. participated. Nurses identified impacting all the social determinants of health (SDoH) through their board service. Many nurses reported holding more than one board position. Notably, nurses who serve in board roles also identified that they have held leadership positions within the board. There is continued opportunity to increase diversity through mentorship, educational opportunities, and professional organizational collaboration.
