The anatomy of the pediatric airway differs from that in adults. In children, relatively minor pathology may have major impacts on airway function. History is essential to providing a complete and focused differential diagnosis to pediatric airway pathology. Congenital aerodigestive abnormalities often require multidisciplinary workup and management. Foreign body ingestion/aspiration is common and is a core component of pediatric otolaryngology.
