Experimental demonstration of entanglement-enhanced rotation angle estimation using trapped ions

Experimental measurements of rotation angle in an atomic ensemble were performed. The measurements include all sources of noise. In an application to a Ramsey spectroscopy experiment, an increased precision in frequency measurement compared to an idealized experiment using unentangled particles was achieved.
