Statistics of adaptive nulling and modeling inhomogeneities in adaptive processing

Recently a generalized eigen-relation (GER) constraint was employed to model inhomogeneities in an adaptive processing context. This constraint facilitated closed-form analysis of classical adaptive detectors under a nonhomogeneous data assumption. In this paper we reexamine the implications of this GER constraint on the statistics of adaptive nulling. We find that although the GER was originally imposed for analytic tractability it in fact preserves the essential statistical nature of an adaptive null, allowing one to model inhomogeneities in adaptive processing.
