Clutter Subspace-based GLRT for Power Heterogeneous Clutter

A class of adaptive radar detectors was recently proposed based on a data model with the clutter represented in the mean of the distribution. This is a departure from the traditional way of modeling radar data which includes all sources of interference in the covariance matrix. This new data model, however, assumed that the clutter power level is homogeneous between primary and secondary data. This paper will extend the analysis to the case where clutter power is possibly heterogeneous. We will study the impact of power heterogeneity between primary and secondary data under the previously introduced model and propose a method to minimize the impact on detection performance.
