Positron emission in PbPb and PbU collisions

We present quantitative calculations of positron emission dynamically induced in the collision of PbPb and PbU. The results are compared with recent measurements, yielding evidence for new processes characteristic for quantum electrodynamics of strong fields. © 1978.
