The constitutive rule is considered for the constitutive matrix change at stress reversals. This additional rule should complement usual, piecewise, path independent or hypoelastic descriptions of solid behavior when applied to cyclic loading. The rule combines the matrix restoration for monoparametric cycles and the matrix continuity across a neutral surface representing the loading function. Some specific forms of the rule are discussed.
