Series of creep and relaxation experiments on scalp, brain, and dura from both human and monkey; analysis of practical creep loading with rise time is given; empirical expression for observed creep curves is developed and deviations from classical viscoelasticity theory noted; four-parameter Maxwell-Kelvin fluid model is proposed and fitted to creep data; in addition, free vibration test using same equipment as creep and relaxation experiments is presented; analysis of this experiment yields values of complex modulus in frequency range 10 to 40 Hz.
