A localized surface plasmon resonance is demonstrated at microwave frequencies. The plasmon structure is based on the assumption that the effective dielectric constant of the loop wire is due to the self-inductance of the constituent wire. The plasmon structure reveals subwavelength surface plasmon resonances below the bulk plasma frequency.
