Presentation of Case A 53-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of a pelvic mass. She was well until 10 days previously, when she became constipated and felt lower abdominal “pressure,” accompanied by dribbling incontinence of urine. One week before admission she had difficulty urinating, and the urine had an abnormal odor. She was seen in the clinic, where examination disclosed a pelvic mass. The patient had never menstruated. She had always been tall and of exceptional physical strength. Her libido was never strong. Breast development began at 13 years of age and progressed normally, although pubic and axillary. © 1977, Massachusetts Medical Society. All rights reserved.
