There is a rich literature on the flow-induced vibrations of a tube conveying fluid. Most existing theoretical models are linear and used to examine the onset of an instability due to (infinitesimally) small disturbances. Here nonlinear models are constructed and solutions obtained. Limit cycle oscillations and stability with respect to large(r) disturbances are examined.
