A velocity imaging technique is described which operates on the envelope-detected echo signal and uses a two-dimensional correlation search method. Several experiments were performed to define the potentials and limitations of this technique. The results indicate that it allows resolution of the flow velocity vector in two dimensions and is not subject to aliasing.
