Recent developments within the scientific community now appear to offer the potential to develop a methodology which will allow a much wider use of the existing animal toxicology data as well as a better definition of additional research needs for the future. This paper discusses an approach that involves the combination of quantitative measures of end points of toxicity with an integrated dosimetric biologic model which predicts lung dose of ozone. Exposure regimens reported in the literature will determine input parameters for the Model. Lung dose will then be predicted by the Model and used with the end point measures to develop dose-response curves.
