Time-out for noncompliance and praise for compliance were used by a mother to modify the task completion times of her child. The effect on the task completion times of a sibling, who was present during treatment of his brother, was examined. Although the untreated child's behavior changed, these changes depended upon the similarity of the tasks assigned to the two children and the time at which the tasks were performed. © 1976 Association for Advancement of Behavior Therapy.
