Ayodele was accepted into the first Laidlaw Scholar cohort at Duke University, comprising 25 undergraduate students. The Laidlaw Scholars Research and Leadership Program is a prestigious 24-month leadership development initiative that cultivates ethical leaders across sectors and fields of interest. This program, supported by a generous gift from the Laidlaw Foundation, aims to equip Duke undergraduates with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to drive meaningful change within their communities and beyond. Laidlaw Scholars at Duke will have access to the global Laidlaw Scholars Network, connecting them with students and faculty from 19 top universities across the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Asia, including Oxford University, Columbia University, and Cambridge University. This program comprises leadership development through academic courses, community-based research, and experiential learning, including two fully funded summer research and leadership experiences, connections with peers at global institutions, a certificate from the University of Oxford, and meaningful reflection on ethical leadership.
