The Informatics Committee is an established committee of the CAP and reports to the Council on Informatics and Pathology Innovation. The committee has numerous focus areas including a case based Education Program, a Machine Learning Working Group that has worked with the FDA, and liaisons to standards development organizations including HL7, IHE and LOINC. The committee works closely with the Council on Government and Professional Affairs on government matters that involve informatics issues.
