Advising & Mentoring
Providing support, encouragement, and inspiration to medical learners is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role at Duke University. Helping residents and fellows achieve their greatest potential occurs when they develop skills through collaboration, feedback, and mentorship.
I will continue to think critically about the effectiveness of my educational encounters and gather relevant feedback, in order to improve my role as a teacher and mentor. I have readily participated in faculty development seminars over the last 5 years and will continue to use information gained through these seminars as well as trainee feedback and self-reflection and analysis as means to improve the value of my educational and mentorship interactions with residents and fellows. I take this role seriously and appreciate the incredible responsibility involved in supporting resident and fellow career development and building a network of bright and talented young doctors and future mentors.
