Overview

My research interest is clinical nephrology. Study types include retrospective reviews of patients with various clinical disorders as well as interventional trials.

I was the Principal Investigator at Duke for the Dialysis Access Consortium trials that attempted to identify pharmacologic interventions which could improve hemodialysis access outcomes.

Other interests include management of clinical renal disorders, treatment of hyponatremia and other electrolyte disorders, and use of vasopressin receptor antagonists. I serve as Editor of the National Kidney Foundation Primer on Kidney Diseases.
