Research Interests include:

Trauma Survivorship and Community Injury Prevention
- NC DMV Initiative at a level 1 trauma center for future injury prevention 
- Vice President of American Trauma Society, NC Division 

Early Screening and Intervention for PTSD and Depression post Trauma 
- ITSS screening by trauma counselors and bedside RN's to populate AVS resources, count as a real-time intervention, and populate outpatient follow up for further evaluation. 

Advancement in Interdisciplinary Teamwork 
- Project development with multidisciplinary groups to facilitate collaboration.  

ED-Trauma Bay Curriculum Development and Standardization for Level 1 Trauma Centers 
- currently developing curriculum specific for ED nurses interested in working within the Trauma Bays at an 850 bed level 1 trauma center. 

Nursing Professional Development and Transition into Practice
- ANA mentor for  professional development
- DNP Project advisor for Wake Forest School of Medicine 
- Speaker for nursing externs
- DNP community Member for SouthEast region, and DNP speaker for DNP Series, "Rocking a DNP Degree". 

Geriatric-Trauma Specialized Care
- Working to obtain AFHS certification for surgical trauma floor given the level of geri-trauma care provided by clinicians and bedside staff.
- UB-2 screening rolled out on this unit to aid with gaining this accreditation

Pressure Injury Prevention: Starts in the ED
- Pressure Injury Prevention Bundle build and included in admission order set for Trauma ICU
- ED staff trained to apply Mepilex to heels and sacrum during secondary survey in the trauma bay
- Weekly skin audits within the TICU
