The adaptive nature of Cognitive Control.... I want to understand how we are able to dynamically adapt from moment to moment in service of our goals. How do we flexibly switch from internal to external attention and vice versa as we move throughout our world? What are the specific dynamics involved in switching between attentional domains vs within attentional domains? How do focus and distraction interact as individuals move between attentional foci? I believe answering these questions are vital in understanding how we adaptively regulate control in order to accomplish goals within our daily lives.
