8/2022-9/2024: Scholarly Project Mentor- The Scholarly Project (SP) is a required four-year longitudinal course designed to stimulate critical thinking, enhance intellectual acuity and inquisitiveness, and foster excellence in the development of research scholars, clinical scholars and educator scholars. The SP allows medical students to conduct research with a faculty mentor on a topic of interest in the fields of health and health care. Mentored Toluwalase on his scholarly project- mentored on literature review, analysis of scientific papers and co-writing a publication for submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
5/20/2022-6/17/2022: Student Attending- Mentored and supervised four medical students for a three-week period. Responsibilities included problem-solving sessions, discussions, review of physical findings, differential diagnosis, work up of patients, reviewing H&Ps and providing feedback, attending student presentations and providing feedback and narrative summary of student’s performance including comments on history-taking, physical examination, knowledge base, problem-solving skills, professional attitude, relationships with staff and patients, major strengths, and weaknesses, etc.
2018-2022: Research Elective Mentor- Creating a Collaborative City-Wide Victim Services Model with a Focus on Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. Mentored a medical student and resident.
2018-2021: Curriculum development and presentations on health for Wellspring Living, a safehouse for domestic minor victims of human trafficking in Atlanta, GA. Mentored six medical students.
2016-2018: Curriculum development and presentations on health for Freedom Place, a safehouse for domestic minor victims of human trafficking in Houston, TX and on delivering the presentation Human Trafficking and the Role of the Medical Professional. Mentored five medical students.
2012-2015: Capstone Project: Human Trafficking- An Emerging Epidemic Multidisciplinary Conference. Mentored capstone project for a graduate student in the masters for public health program.
