Research Interests

My academic interests include region, class and gender in American and post-colonial literatures, as well as satire, the novel and narrative theory.  I’m also interested in religious and intellectual history, and the history of everyday life.  My recent courses have focused on the identities and values related to the experience of embodiment and to the experience of place, and on the forms of identity required for both colonialism and postcolonial response.
