Advising & Mentoring
Through "PhD Transitions," a program I launched in 2019, I offer interdisciplinary group coaching to PhD students across Duke.
Beginning in Fall 2021, I will launch a group coaching program for new faculty (years 1-2), in partnership with Duke Office of Faculty Advancement.
I regularly teach GS990, "Best Practices in Mentoring," a noncredit short course I created for Duke Graduate Academy.
I direct the Arts & Sciences PhD Student Peer Mentor Fellows Program, in which advanced doctoral students learn best practices and support for running their own peer mentor groups.
I am also available for 1:1 advising & mentoring meetings with Duke PhD students in the humanities and humanistic social sciences. In this role, I serve as an informed sounding-board and safe venue for students to discuss any aspect related to their current doctoral training or future professional trajectory.
