Research Interests

My research is about three different topics. First, I am interested in clinical infectious diseases and how they impact pregnancy. I also study chromosome problems, such as trisomy 13 or 18, in pregnancy. Finally, I do research regarding medical education in order to try to find better ways to teach our learners.

My educational focus extends into my research as well, specifically interest in how pre-clinical exposure to various specialties effects learner perceptions about various specialties and ultimately career choices. I also study letters of recommendation for OBGYN residency and MFM fellowship.

My clinical research focuses in the areas of infectious diseases and effects of fetal chromosome abnormalities on pregnancy. I have authored over 40 publications. I enjoy teaching medical students and residents about clinical research and helping these learners understand the basics of medical research from clinical question to final publication.
