Rigorous and unbiased statistical analysis of singlemolecule data is now recognized as a crucial component to substantiate any discovery made through such experiments. This presentation summarizes many such tools, and ventures some future directions in the context of the dynamics of biological macromolecules. © 2012 IEEE.
