To 6 day old pups, 1,000 IU of vitamin A were successively fed on the 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th days of age and its effects on liver studied on the 23rd day. Feeding of vitamin A to pups significantly reduced liver DNA, protein, total and free cholesterol and total phospholipids and significantly increased liver triglycerides.
