Manganese-lead mixed oxide catalysts for decomposition of hydrogen peroxide
Alumina-supported manganese-lead oxide catalysts were prepared, and their activity for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide was assessed by the refractometric method. Lead oxide as an additive promotes remarkably the activity of manganese oxide and the catalyst with an equimolar ratio of manganese oxide and lead oxide exhibits the highest activity. This synergistic effect is explained by the formation of a new mixed oxide phase. XRD analysis shows that a new phase of PbMnO
