We devised innovative, adaptable, bioplasmonic paper-based devices (BPDs) that diagnose Zika infection in patient serum via optical quantification of the localized surface plasmon resonance shift due to binding of patient's anti-ZIKV-Nonstructural protein-1 IgG and IgM. By means of metal organic framework (MOF) technology, these BPDs do not require refrigeration and are stable at ambient temperature for extended time allowing use in reso.
