Homopolymers and diblock copolymers containing 4-flurostyrene and methyl acrylate were synthesized by ATRP. By using PMDETA as the coordinating ligand for the Cu1Br, diblock copolymers that have not been generated previously by other radical polymerization methods were synthesized. Diblock copolymers containing a fluorine tag at the hydrophobic or hydrophilic chain end were synthesized by living nitroxide mediated polymerization methods.
