In this work, we developed an in situ force monitoring system of skeletal muscle based on “ecoflex-coupling method”. The three dimensional (3D) human skeletal muscle myobundles was fabricated in series with ecoflex (platinum-catalyzed silicones) film containing microbeads. Through mapping the displacement of the microbeads in ecoflex, a linear relation between muscle contractile force production and ecoflex film stretch was established. Then the force production of engineered muscle was real-time monitored in situ.
