Best vitelliform dystrophy is an inherited retinal disease involving the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), leading to a characteristic bilateral yellow “egg yolk” appearance in the macula. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is helpful in identifying the vitelliform lesion and demonstrating subretinal fluid that may indicate development of choroidal neovascularization.
