Family physicians can make a significant impact on the sexual health of adolescents and on their adult lives by increasing the access of teens to health care and then addressing their sexual health needs. Preventive immunizations, direct patient education, early identification and aggressive treatment of STDs, and skill-building for parents should be provided at every opportunity.
