Virtual Teaching and Learning
De Gagne, JC; Green, K
Virtual teaching and learning has been a viable option for education and professional development for many decades; however, this pedagogy differs from traditional classroom teaching. During the COVID-19 pandemic, much has been learned about virtual learning, and educators have gained insight into the skill sets, training, strategies, and tools that contribute to its successful implementation. As educators transition from traditional to virtual learning, sometimes doing so quickly in response to circumstances, a critical evaluation of their efforts is essential to identify areas that can be improved to increase learner success. This chapter helps educators incorporate new strategies into their virtual teaching and learning, apply best practices, explore new resources, and provide successful virtual teaching in health professions education.
