The pericapsular nerve group (or PENG) block is a regional anesthesia technique designed to anesthetize a number of small articular nerve branches that supply the anterior and medial joint capsule as well as much of the articular surfaces of the femur and acetabulum. The PENG block provides excellent analgesia for hip-related procedures without motor weakness of the lower extremity.
