OCT systems can differentiate between skin lesions and other dermatological conditions, and new approaches seek to enhance existing instrumentation. OCT is a compelling imaging modality for dermatology and biomedicine due to its capability to noninvasively create 3D cross-sectional images of biological tissues with micrometer-scale resolution.
