In this study two unsaturated hydroperoxides, model compounds for natural rubber, polyunsaturated isoprenoids such as polyprenols, and polybutadiene, were exposed to initiators in the presence of oxygen. The products of these reactions were isolated and found to be cyclic peroxides that could be produced by a series of reactions involving peroxy radical cyclizations followed by trapping of molecular oxygen to form new peroxy radicals. © 1983, American Chemical Society.
