Dihydroartemisitene [5], obtained by reducing its hydroperoxy analogue with triphenylphosphine, was found to undergo isomerization to the keto-aldehyde 6 when chromatographed on Si gel. X-ray crystallographic analysis established the structure of each compound. © 1990, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
