We propose to study the impact parameter dependence of the [Formula Presented] ratio in [Formula Presented] reactions. The [Formula Presented] ratio is a sensible tool to distinguish between hadronic cascade models and hydrodynamical models, which assume chemical equilibrium and incorporate a possible phase transition to a quark-gluon plasma. © 1999 The American Physical Society.
