The need for and the objectives of an interdisciplinary course EM DASH Technology Assessment and Social Choice EM DASH are discussed. The course was designed to aid the engineering curriculum to become more relevant to societal problems and to enhance student awareness of social policies. Desirable features for similar courses are presented. A bibliography representative of recent research in technology assessment is included.
