The purpose of this paper is to briefly review current thinking about the mechanisms of thermocytotoxicity at the cellular level and to discuss the variations in normal tissue sensitivity to heat. Extensive reviews are available on these subjects that cover the material in greater detail than will be cited here (1) (2) (3) (4).
