Anti-obesity medication use in adolescents: risks and benefits.

Pharmacological agents currently used to treat obese adolescents decrease appetite or reduce fat absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. This paper summarizes the indications for pharmacotherapy and the potential benefits and risks of anti-obesity medications.
